Abstract

Writing together about the lives of poor intellectuals in urban areas with lyrical qualities in novels, authors Nhat Linh, Khai Hung and Thach Lam had a meeting as well as a creative mark in two novels Ganh hang hoa (Nhat Linh, Khai Hung) and Ngay moi (Thach Lam). The comparison of the lyrical qualities in the two novels from the perspective of content and artistic form not only brings discoveries about the value of these two novels but also suggests many interesting things about the writing style of each author, general assessments of the Tu Luc Van Doan group and their great contributions to Vietnamese novels in particular and modern Vietnamese literature in general
